Google Photos is Getting a New 'Ultra HDR' Editing Option

Google Photos users might soon see an exciting new feature called “Ultra HDR” under the app's "Adjust" settings. This option appears to build on the existing "HDR effect," though its exact capabilities are still under wraps as it’s not fully functional yet.


What's New?

• Ultra HDR: Expected to give users more control over brightness levels, possibly at a pixel level, providing enhanced detail and dynamic range in photos.
• Vibrance: A new name for the current "HDR effect," aimed at differentiating it from the upcoming Ultra HDR feature.

In addition, a new image flipping button has also been spotted in version 7.0 of the app.

For now, users can’t access these features via the Play Store, as the latest version available is 6.99. However, sideloading version 7.0 unlocks these options for early experimentation.
