Hey HONOR Fans & Explorers

We know that Rajinikanth is the Superstar and a great actor in the Indian Cinema. But do we know that he's the only actor to act in all cinematic formats? We are not only going to see that, we are here to see more about him. Let's check it.

Rajinikanth, also known as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, was an Indian Actor, born on 12 December 1950, who predominantly worked in Tamil Cinema. He had won many awards, and at the 67th National Film Awards, he was awarded India's highest award in the field of cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He was also called by other names such as Style Mannan (King of Style), Superstar, Thalaivar (Leader).

Rajinikanth is widely regarded as one of the most popular actors in the history of Indian cinema. His popularity has been attributed to his uniquely styled dialogues and idiosyncrasies in films, as well as his political statements and philanthropy.

We can't say that Rajinikanth grew up with Cinema, The Cinema grew with Rajinikanth. The cinematic formats in which he acted was:
Black & White
He debuted his first movie in Apoorva Raagangal which was directed by K.Balachander in 1975. He was cast in a small role as the ex-husband of the female lead in the movie. At that time in Tamil Cinema, there were no theatres, instead it was Tentkotta, which means a small theatre in a Tent.

Color Format
Super Star Rajinikanth's Kannada film Sahodarara Saval in 1977 happens to be his first film in Colour. The film also had Vishnuvardhan in the lead role.

He acted in many movies as antagonist such as 16 Vayadhinile, which was released in the same year 1977. "Ithu eppadi irukku?", the signature dialogue spoken by Rajini, every time he speaks, which torments us as Villain with this dialogue in the movie.

Not only did he act as the Villain, and made us cry in Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai with his powerful performances and brought accolades.

Bhairavi, released in 1978, is the first movie for Rajinikanth to act as a solo hero and who earned the sobriquet "Superstar". Kalaipuli S Dhanu, who was then a big distributor, bought the Chennai city rights for the film. He raised a 35 feet cut out for Rajini at the now defunct Plaza theatre in Chennai’s Anna Salai and also got three different sets of publicity posters for the film with the words “Super Star Rajinikanth" and got them pasted all over the city. This title gained wide currency and came to be accepted as a permanent title for Rajini in all his future movies.

Tentkotta was after changed to Bench Talkies. The accolades were transformed into celebrations, and at that time, BILLA was released in 1980. This movie was a remake of Amithabh Bachan's Don. The success of Billa established Rajinikanth as one of the top stars of Tamil cinema. It was remade in 2007 in Tamil under the same title, starring Ajith Kumar.

If the cities had Billa, then the villages had Murattu Kaalai. The viewers cherished it by bursting crackers inside the theatres.

Thalapathi, which was released in 1991, directed by Mani Ratnam, which made the Indian Film Industry notice the Tamil Films. The story is based on the friendship bond of Karna & Duryodhana, the characters of the Hindu Epic Mahabharata. Rajinikanth transcribed the epitome of emotions to the Thalapathi Movie.

Annamalai, released in 1992 was the first movie for Rajinikanth to have the Superstar Title Intro. Even though he had the Title as Superstar, the intro with the theme music appeared for the first time on the 70MM Screen. It was celebrated and made it as a common title card for every Thalaivar Films

Baashha, the movie which makes us the reference to a Don, was a blockbuster industry hit in 1995. The same crowd for the movie stood on the ground after 22 years during its re-release

Baba, released in 2002, is an atheist who always questions the higher power. A turn of events bestows Baba with divine powers and he takes it as an opportunity to help the people in his state.

Although this movie was a flop and poorly performed at the box office, this movie was a favourite for many Superstar Rajinikanth Fans, for his Unique Style. That's why he's the Style Mannan. And this movie became a superhit after it's re-release in 2022

Rajini, who's an example for Style, had came as a valiant actor in Chandramukhi, released in 2005, which he made a box office success, with a theatrical run of 890 days. No other movies came to beat the theatrical run days. The Vettaiyan character, played by Rajini, had a small role. But it had a big impact by a small villainous dialogue, "Lakalakalakalakalaka". Sunfeast Biscuits also helped in the film's promotion. They launched special merchandise which consists of cards, featuring Rajinikanth and some stills of Chandramukhi. Even I had collected these on my childhood. But I missed it. Does anybody knows how to get these cards again?

He came up with a Powerful Mass in Sivaji The Boss, released in 2007, directed by Shankar, which had a mix of grandeur and action. The fans celebrated him in every frame and the entire theatre erupted with his new getup as 'Motta Boss'.

A huge response in the whole Indian Cinema had for this movie. The film was converted from 2D into 3D and released on 12 December 2012 on his birthday as Sivaji 3D. The runtime of the 3D version was shorter than the original, cut to 155 minutes. It also became the First Indian Movie to use the Dolby Atmos Sound System Technology and the first Tamil film to be officially released on a 1080p High Definition Blu-ray disc

Enthiran, released in 2010, directed by Shankar, made the whole world look at him with Chitti The Robot. Came as both Hero and Villain, made the stunt sequences by himself at the age of 60. The box office collection had upto 300 to 400 Crores at that time.

Hollywood Director Joe Russo revealed that the climax of Avengers : Age Of Ultron in which several Ultrons were supposed to build on giant Ultron was inspired by the scene in Shankar's "Enthiran" where several Chitti robots came together to make one giant robot, transforming into various shapes in the climax fight. He also revealed that the scene was cut due to time constraints.

Motion Capture (Animation)
The same Rajinikanth was the first to step into 3D Motion Capture. Kochadaiiyaan was released in 2014. The first Indian movie to be made into a photorealistic motion capture film, featuring characters whose designs were based on the appearance and likeness of their respective actors. This film was a result of a complex development process, starting with the director's idea of directing and co-producing Sultan: The Warrior with Eros International in 2007, which was to feature Rajinikanth as a computer animated character. After cancelling the project due to lack of financial support, they turned their attention to producing Rana, which was to be a live-action historical fiction film directed by K.S.Ravikumar starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. However, the project was put on hold after Rajinkanth fell ill and uncertainty remained whether Rana would resume. In the meantime, producer Dr. J. Murali Manohar felt impressed by Soundarya's draft work on Sultan and persuaded her to materialise her directorial ambitions with Kochadaiiyaan, featuring a plot which leads itself up to the events of Rana, which was later deciphered as a sequel script to Kochadaiiyaan

Kochadaiiyaan was promoted as "a tribute to the centennial of Indian cinema" and released worldwide in 3D and for traditional viewing on 23 May 2014 in Tamil and five additional languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Punjabi.

Many accusations were made because of this age, as decades passed. But he made us roar in admiration for the powerful entries for Malaysian Don in Kabali and Dharavi Don in Kaala Karikaalan.

My friends named me "Kabali" when I speak the famous dialogue from the Kabali Movie, as I am a huge fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. Till now, I don't know who named me Kabali

Real 3D
After all that, we are now in the Real 3D technology. 2.0 aka Enthiran 2, was released in 2018, which was the highest budget film of 550 Crores in Indian Cinema, The film is the first in Indian cinema to be natively shot in 3D and released in 3D Format, which was done by cinematographer Nirav Shah. The movie received mostly positive reviews upon release. Critics particularly praised the film's visual effects, performances of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, and social message. The box office collection had upto 600 to 800 Crores

Image

Afterall, we have seen him as a Demigod in Indian Cinema. And we have now ended this. Rajinikanth - An Icon of Epitome of Emotions and the Only Actor to act in all Cinematic Formats such as B/W, Color, 2D, 3D, Motion Capture, REAL 3D

And so happy that I met the Superstar in real. He's so humble and respectful person I met. It was a wonderful moment and unforgettable memory. Love you Thalaivaa
