Good Morning Friends ☀️

How are you all? I hope you all are well and enjoying your Sunday. In today's threads we are going to talk about cyber crime. So let's start our first episode today.

What is Cyber Crime ?
Cybercrime is the use of a computer for illegal purposes, such as fraud, identity theft, or privacy violation. Cybercrime has become more important as computers have become central to commerce, entertainment, and government.
Here are some examples of cybercrime :
Phishing :
A cyber-attack that uses emails, websites, or text messages to trick victims into giving up personal information or corporate data. Phishing campaigns may include infected attachments or links to malicious sites.

Identity theft :
The crime of using another person's personal or financial information to commit fraud, such as making unauthorized transactions or purchases.

Cyberstalking :
The use of cell phones, social media, and email to stalk, harass, or bully victims.

Cyberterrorism :
Acts of terrorism committed through the use of cyberspace or computer resources, such as disrupting computer networks and personal computers through viruses, worms, phishing, malicious software, hardware, or programming scripts.

Cyber extortion :
When a website, e-mail server, or computer system is subjected to or threatened with repeated denial of service.

Ransomware:
A type of malware that encrypts a victim's data and demands a ransom payment for the decryption key.

Website spoofing:
A type of cybercrime. The user is then tricked into believing they are interacting with a trustworthy website when it is in fact a spoofed website. For example, if you see a website resembling verabank.com but has a different domain name like verrabank.com or vera.bank.com – it's a trick!

Malware:
Malicious software that interferes with a computer's normal functioning.

Hacking:
The act of gaining unauthorized access to data in a computer or network.

Other types of cybercrime include:

Data theft, Extortion, Online harassment, Identity theft, Social engineering, and Software piracy. Cybercrime can threaten individuals, businesses, and government entities, resulting in significant financial loss, damaged reputation, and compromised records.

Here are some tips to prevent cybercrime:
( 1 ) Use an up-to-date system( 2 ) Use a secure internet connection( 3 ) Use strong passwords( 4 ) Be aware of pop-ups and fraudulent emails( 5 ) Protect yourself from identity threats( 6 ) Manage your social media settings( 7 ) Get the right cyber insurance policy

That's all for today in short threads. See you soon in another thread with new information. With which you can save yourself from getting scammed. To get such important information, like, comment, share this post and follow me.
