Last year, we saw multiple robot vacuums in the market equipped with some of the best in class innovation and with AI too and some are fully automated. But, although these are great, there wasn't any huge leap of innovation, happened with the robot vacuums.
We do, see that most of today's vacuum can do self cleaning and self dusting from their dustbin and even mop cleaning on the base itself.
Let's quickly look into it more deeply...Roborock has announced the Saros Z70 robot vacuum cleaner at CES 2025. The company claims that it is the first mass-produced model in the world to feature a robotic arm.
The Roborock Saros Z70, the first readily available robot vacuum with a robotic arm, has been revealed. The mechanical arm can be used to lift small items out of the way, and you can even tell the robot where to place them. The new smart home device is on show at CES 2025, with features like strong suction, a slim body and an upgraded self-cleaning docking station.
The Saros Z70’s robotic arm feature is called OmniGrip, and the five-axis foldable arm can move both horizontally and vertically. It is said to be able to move objects weighing up to 300 g (~0.7 lbs). Roborock suggests that such items could include a sock, a light shoe or a small towel. By moving the objects, the robot is able to clean more thoroughly and can save you tidying the house beforehand. In the app, you can choose which objects the OmniGrip should target and where they can be placed safely out of the way. Plus, when not in use, the arm folds away inside the robot’s body.
These vacuum include double rotating mops, StarSight navigation technology, the AdaptiLift Chassis to clear some obstacles and an ultra-slim body measuring 7.98 cm (~3.1 inches). Plus, it has the 22,000 Pa maximum suction power.
On top of this, it comes with the latest Multifunctional Dock 4.0, with features like rapid 2.5-hour charging. Other upgrades on older docks include 80°C (~176°C) hot water mop washing and automatic mop removal.
The pricing of the Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum has yet to be revealed, and the model is expected to launch in Q2.Pricing and availability
