Image  Welcome back to Paranormal Pathways, where we peel back the curtain on the supernatural and unearth the chilling tales that keep you awake at night. In our last adventure, we sailed aboard the haunted decks of the RMS Queen Mary uncovering restless spirits and tragic tales.Today, we step into a suburban home that became the epicenter of one of the most famous and debated hauntings in modern history.
But before, we get in to the realm of paranormal , I have something to clear, I recently noticed some of you guys running wild with questions _ asking or confused this is fake or real, let me clear the air : all the stories I have given in the series so far is all friction .All rumored stories , picked from various sources that caught my attention , there no proof or concrete evidence that this is all real or fake . Just stories of something that happened in real and doesn’t have a proper explanation. So if you do have a way to debunk it please go ahead, or if you don’t then just enjoy the content ( that’s why I right them) as it is like a story. My request please do not fight in the corner over something that have a question mark and a lot of confusion for its existence.
What is paranormal ?
Something unexplained and odd , so enjoy it as it .( Also I molt the stories a little to make it more spicy, so take it in that sense )

Ok! Enough chitti chat lets dive in .
In the quiet borough of Enfield, England, a modest council house on Green Street became the stage for an extraordinary and terrifying series of events in the late 1970s. What began as strange noises escalated into a full-blown poltergeist phenomenon that captivated the world—and left experts divided.
Prepare yourself as we revisit the story of the Enfield Poltergeist, a suburban nightmare that may still haunt the living.

The Hodgson Family’s Quiet Life Turned ChaoticThe haunting began in August 1977, when Peggy Hodgson, a single mother of four, noticed unusual noises coming from her daughters’ shared bedroom. Her daughters, 11-year-old Janet and 13-year-old Margaret, claimed their beds were shaking, and Peggy herself witnessed furniture moving inexplicably.

Within days, the activity escalated. Loud knocking sounds echoed through the house, objects flew across rooms, and even Janet seemed to be at the center of unexplainable phenomena, levitating in mid-air. The family was terrified, prompting them to seek help from neighbors and eventually the local police.

The case attracted the attention of Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair, investigators from the Society for Psychical Research (SPR). They spent months documenting the activity in the Hodgson home, capturing chilling evidence, including:
- Disembodied Voices: Janet began speaking in a deep, guttural voice, claiming to be “Bill,” a man who had died in the house years earlier. Her voice was recorded and analyzed, showing no signs of trickery despite its inhuman tone.
- Furniture Moving on Its Own: Grosse and Playfair observed chairs sliding across the floor and furniture tipping over without any physical force.

- Photographs of Levitation: A series of photos captured Janet being thrown into the air, appearing to levitate above her bed. Critics argued she was jumping, but witnesses swore the force was not her own.
  Skepticism and Controversy
As the story gained media attention, skeptics began questioning its validity. Some accused the Hodgson children of fabricating the events for attention. Janet later admitted that she and her siblings had faked a few minor incidents but insisted the majority of the activity was real.Despite the skepticism, the sheer volume of witnesses—including neighbors, police officers, and journalists—lent credibility to the haunting. Even famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren visited the house, declaring it a genuine case of demonic activity

The Legacy of the Enfield Poltergeist
The haunting seemed to subside by 1979, though the Hodgson family reported occasional disturbances for years afterward. Janet, now an adult, maintains that what happened in the house was largely beyond explanation. The story Inspired books, documentaries, and films, including The Conjuring 2, which brought the Enfield Poltergeist to a global audience. However, the real events remain far more complex—and far more terrifying—than any Hollywood adaptation.

Would You Spend a Night on Green Street?
Today, the house at 284 Green Street looks like any other on the block. But those who know its history claim the atmosphere inside remains oppressive, as if the spirits never fully left. Could the Enfield Poltergeist still be lurking in the shadows, waiting for another family to awaken its wrath?
Tell us in the comments—would you dare to spend a night in the Hodgson home? Or do you think some doors are better left unopened?
