Jagaddhatri represents Goddess Durga and is worshipped on the Shukla Navami tithi of the Bengali month of Karthik. Unlike Durga, who is often associated with a violent form, Jagaddhatri embodies a peaceful aspect, symbolizing her role as the protector of the Earth. The festival dedicated to her lasts for five days, beginning with Sashti and continuing through Saptami, Ashtami, and Nabami, culminating on Dashami with the immersion procession of Goddess Jagaddhatri, known as "Bisarjan."
