World Rhino Day was first announced by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature)-South Africa in 2010. The following year, World Rhino Day grew into an international success, encompassing both African and Asian rhino species.

Rhinos’ eyesight unable to see a motionless person at a distance of 30m – rely on their strong sense of smell. 
Rhino horn is made up of keratin - the same protein which forms the basis of our hair and nails.
Male rhinos are called 'bulls' & females are called 'cows'. Young are ‘calves’.
Females more sociable than the more males. A group of rhinos is called a ‘crash’.

Rhinos make an array of funny noises when they're communicating.
