In this thread, I am sharing here a buzzing hot topic with you all for the VOL - #14 of our Tech Roundtable Series.
Everyday and everytime, we may see fights between two parties. I mean Fan Fights, like between Actor's Fans. But when it comes to Tech Side, there may be fights in Fans of Processor Chipset Brands like Intel & AMD in PC. And Snapdragon & MediaTek in Mobile Phones.
Fan Fights for Actors may be considered like we like the actor and praise them and sometimes may quarrel each actors, but with a healthy competition and not to harm in anytype or harrass.
But in Tech & Mobile Phone Side, The brands give money and chipset, and then the customers would not be satisfied with the Customer's Preference on the Chipset they use.
The main fight is on Processor Chipset between Snapdragon and MediaTek.

About MediaTek
MediaTek Inc., sometimes informally abbreviated as MTK, is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that designs and manufactures a range of semiconductor products, providing chips for wireless devices.
What's the Issue between both Processors?
Some rumours & news have been spreading in the social media that MediaTek & NVIDIA collaborates for providing Chipsets. And many fans of the processors are saying that MediaTek will be launching a new processor in the collab with the NVIDIA, which will beat the flagship processors of Snapdragon & Apple Bionic Chipsets.
But the truth is, this news is false.
Then why this news got spread like this?
Actually, MediaTek, Snapdragon, Apple or Exynos are the Chipsets made as SoC (Sysytem-On-A-Chip), which is an integrated circuit that combines all the components of a system into a single piece of silicon. In mobile devices, SoC can imclude a processor, memory, Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), USB controller for management circuit, and wireless radios.
MediaTek collaborates with NVIDIA, which is the largest GPU Company, for providing Chipsets with More Graphics Processing Unit - GPU to provide high gaming performance for gamers.
In the PC Era, NVIDIA is the brand provides most powerful GPU. "If MediaTek & NVIDIA collaborates, they can beat the leading processor brands." This was believed by MediaTek Fanboys.
But the truth is: NVIDIA & MediaTek are working together to make the industry's best gaming display technologies more accessible to gamers globally. The both Companies planned to bring G-SYNC Display Technologies to More Gamers.
Actually, in a Processor or SoC or GPU, what are the needs?
Performance & Efficiency
In PC, Performance is a must, because we can use power to charge and the lack of performance issue will be very less. But in Mobile Phones, as we use them with Battery which has limited power, we need more Efficiency.
Even if NVIDIA has a bigger GPU (with more architecture based chipset producing) which mainly provides performance cores, maybe it won't be suitable with MediaTek due to architecture change and less efficient. Maybe in future they can develop a better chip, and it's not sure.
What actually the news about the collaboration of MediaTek & NVIDIA was, they both collab to produce chipsets of GPU for Automobiles, Electric Cars, Displays, TV Chipsets, G-Sync Technology Enabled Displays, etc.... And there's no collaboration made to produce chipsets for mobile phones.
While the performance gap is narrow, Snapdragon offers smoother gameplay and higher frame rates in demanding titles, a critical factor for many flagship devices targeting power users and gamers, but they are weak in midrange & budget segments. MediaTek performs well in tasks that leverage multiple cores mainly performs more in midrange and budget segments, but don't require peak performance. Both Processors are better to use.Verdict - Which Processor is better? Snapdragon or MediaTek?
At a budget level, MediaTek SoCs perform better because they use a better GPU in their budget SoCs as compared to Snapdragon, which gives other components DSP(there isn't any dedicated DSP in MediaTek SoCs), better image processors, faster modem, etc.
