How to Check If Someone Is Using Your WhatsApp Account
To find out if someone else is accessing your WhatsApp account on another device, follow these simple steps:
- Open WhatsApp on your primary device (the one you used to link other devices).
- Tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Linked devices.
- On the Linked devices page, you’ll see a list of all devices currently linked to your account under Device Status.
- Each session will show the last active date and time. Look through the list to identify any devices you don’t recognize.
- Pay attention to the Last active time to spot recent activity on devices you don’t use.
If you notice an unfamiliar device linked to your WhatsApp account, you can easily log out remotely to prevent unauthorized access.
- Open WhatsApp, tap the three-dot icon, and go to Linked devices.
- From the list of sessions under Device Status, tap on the device you want to log out from.
- Tap Log out to remove your WhatsApp account from that device.
How to Protect Your WhatsApp Account
To further secure your WhatsApp account, you can take additional steps:
- Set up two-factor authentication (Two-step verification): This feature adds an extra layer of security by requiring a PIN when registering your phone number with WhatsApp.
- Enable App Lock: You can activate App Lock from WhatsApp’s settings to add another layer of protection, requiring fingerprint or face unlock to access the app.
Stay safe and secure with WhatsApp!
