Hyundai has officially announced that the N Vision 74, a striking hydrogen-electric hybrid concept, will enter production. This decision was revealed during Hyundai's CEO and Investor Day presentation, where the N Vision 74 was highlighted as part of the company's future lineup of high-performance electric vehicles. Though specific details about the powertrain are still under wraps, speculation suggests the production model could boast up to 800 horsepower. Production will be limited, with reports indicating only 100 units will be made—70 for road use and 30 for racing.Image
Retro Design Inspiration
The N Vision 74 draws its design cues from Hyundai's iconic 1974 Pony Coupe concept. The car's retro-futuristic styling, crafted by SangYup Lee, merges elements from classic 1970s and 1980s sports coupes with Hyundai's contemporary "Parametric Pixel" design language. The design has garnered comparisons to legendary vehicles such as the Lancia 037, DMC DeLorean, Audi Quattro, and Toyota Supra, creating a blend of nostalgia and modern innovation.Image
Powertrain Speculations
While the concept car was powered by a 671-horsepower hydrogen fuel cell system, the production version's powertrain remains uncertain. Industry insiders suggest Hyundai might opt for a conventional electric drivetrain due to the challenges associated with hydrogen fuel infrastructure. Rumors indicate the production model could produce up to 800 horsepower, with a configuration that might include dual electric motors on the rear axle for torque vectoring, and potentially a third motor on the front axle.

Production Timeline
Production of the N Vision 74 is expected to begin in the first half of 2026. Hyundai has yet to confirm an exact release date, but the vehicle is slated to launch before 2030 as part of the company's broader strategy to introduce 21 new models by that year. Research and development for the production version are reportedly already underway at Hyundai's Namyang development center in South Korea.
